Director

Amanda Burch was named the Varsity Director of the Emerson Majestics in 2023. Under her direction the Majestics won numerous titles including 1st Place Select Team in their division at both the MA and Crowd Pleasers regional contests in 2024. Prior to Emerson, she came from Grapevine High School where she was the Director for the Grapevine JV Belles and the Assistant Director for the Varsity Fabulous Fillies since 2019. Under her direction, both the Fillies and Belles have won multiple awards including the National Champion Officer Line  2023. 

 

She grew up in Southlake where she was a member of the Southlake Emerald Belles and an active studio company member with Majestic Dance Academy. She trained in multiple genres of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, musical theater, lyrical and contemporary. She performed with Majestic's competitive team as well as their annual Nutcracker where she performed honored roles such as Clara, the Dew Drop Fairy, the Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

After High school, Amanda went on to earn her BFA in Dance from the University of North Texas where she focused on Modern Dance performance and choreography. She represented the University for three years at the American College Dance Festival on the adjudicated stage. She worked with amazing choreographers such as Bebe Miller and  was the sole student selected to practice and perform with Satellite Dance Company and their company members for their guest performance at the Faculty Dance Concert. During her senior year, she was selected to be the sole Artistic Director for the University’s Composer/Choreographer concert, a joint collaboration production between UNT's Dance & Music departments.

After graduating Cum Laude from the University, Amanda went on to dance with several local professional companies and groups including Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, the Texas Revolution Dancers and the Texas Legends Dancers. She worked with each group as both a performer and choreographer. She received positive reviews for her choreography in The Column, Theater Jones and The Dallas Morning News. Amanda was captain for two years with the Texas Revolution Dancers where she helped run practices and games and acted as both an Assistant Director and performer. With the Texas Legends Dancers, she was a group leader, and was honored to be selected to travel to the other side of the world to perform in Malaysia in October 2018 for the Seri Mutiara Cup. Amanda was voted “Veteran of the Year” for the Texas Revolution Dancers in 2017 and then again for the Texas Legends Dancers in 2019.

With this variety of experiences, Amanda has had the opportunity to perform and train professionally in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and Pom. Her mission is to use these life experiences in the world of dance to help her students achieve their dance and life goals. She believes that dance is a powerful form of expression that beautifully blends artist and athlete into one. She currently resides in Carrollton, TX with her husband Jake, daughters Evelyn and Kairi and German shepherd ,Freyja.
